About Me : | Imagine a young dog with inadequate shelter, and little food or water? This is the situation that 100 sled dogs found themselves in last year, when their owner fell onto hard economic times. Rescues across the map came to their aid. Here at DVSHR, we were lucky to get Luke. This sweet dog is shy, but warms up quickly. Because he grew up around so many dogs, social Luke is very dog friendly. He currently plays well with four other dogs in his foster home. We are just getting to know Luke, however some things are obvious about him. Being a sled dog, Luke’s athleticism is very high. Be prepared to have an outlet for his energy. We do not know if Luke was ever housetrained, however most sled dogs do not get house privileges. We are happy to report that smart Luke is doing extremely well with this training thus far. He is very obedient. Luke likes to be with his canine friends and snuggle up for belly rubs. We are excited that this lad will finally get the attention and spoiling he deserves. Luke’s requirement: Fenced yard at least 6 ft At least one canine playmate All potential adopters will speak directly with the foster family. Look for updates on our new lad Luke. |
