CAT FRIENDLY
Abby is a very sweet 3-4yr old affectionate girl. She bondly easily and quickly with everyone. She is very intelligent, learns quickly and is eager to please. Abby may have a torn cruciate ligament in her right hind knee and a problem with her hip. She is being treated and will be reevaluated by her vet. Abby is good with kids However, when she gets excited she plays rough and could knock over a small children with her exuberant play. We are working on this. Her new family will need to be committed to continuing her training and supervise play between their children and Abby. The children will need to be taught how to interact w/ Abby when she gets too rough. She is NOT aggressive, just plays rough when too excited. Abby would do best with children 5 and up. Abby likes to go for a car ride. She is very well behaved in the car. She sits next to you and put her head on your lap. We do not know if Abby is crate trained. Abby can be left alone in the house. She is not destructive. We left her alone with the Christmas tree and she didn’t touch a thing. During the first two weeks she cried when we went out. Now she’s ok. Abby respects baby gates. Abby is mostly potty trained. She does have occasional accidents when her foster family goes out. She was treated for a urinary infection but still needs to urinate every 3-4 hours. Abby loves to play with toys. She prefers tennis balls, rope toys and stuffed toys. She is not interested in anything made of rubber. Abby gives up toys, rawhides and meat bones willingly. Abby does not guard her food bowl while eating or when it is empty. Abby is good with cats. She is living with four cats in her foster home. Abby will chase a timid cat who runs away from her but she does not try to hurt the cat. Abby gets along with other dogs. Abby is very well behaved at the vets office. Abby usually does not get on furniture unless invited. When her people return from an outing she is so excited she races around the house and jumps on the furniture. We redirect her energy to a toy and do not give her any attention until she sits. Abby is a very willing student and learns quickly. She craves affection and will do anything to get it. She know we will not pet her until she calms down and sits nicely. We don’t even have to say anything. Just stand still and ignore her(no eye contact either) and bingo she sits calmly at our side. Abby did pull hard on leash but with training she is improving steadily. Abby is high energy and needs LOTS of exercise. She is good with a 4ft fence. |
