Maverick is a 2 1/2 yr old energetic Siberian. He is friendly and likes to give kisses. Maverick will be 3 yrs old in January. In his previous home Maverick lived with 6 cats! He likes to play with the cats but does not hurt them. Maverick has only been around children who were pre-teen or older so we recommend that he not be placed with children under 10 yrs old because he does not have experience with young children. Maverick like to go for car rides. However, after a 1/2 hour he tries to get into the passenger seat so he will need some training in that area. Maverick pulls hard on leash for the first 10 minutes then he settles down to a brisk pace. Maverick is crate trained. He is used to a wire crate. Maverick has not lived with another dog. We will be introducing Maverick to other dogs so please check back for future updates.
Maverick came into rescue because he got loose from his yard and was accused of killing a neighbor’s ducks.
Maverick is a sweet boy. He responds well to directions and corrections from a calm assertive pack leader. He will try to take advantage of someone who is a "softie".
Success Story :
Mavericks’ family had to give him up under very sad circumstances. It wasn’t long before a very nice family had an interest in him. They had lost their two dogs recently. Timing was good for everyone.
