Loki

Gender :  -Female-
Size :  Medium (40 - 60 lbs)
Age :  4-5 years
Coat Color :  Grey / White
Eye Color :  Blue Eyes
About Me :  This timid, petite young lady was a stray who fell into the kind hands of a good samaritan family. When she came into our program, we discovered some health issues which are carefully being monitored. Loki is spayed and up to date on all of her shots but has had several mild seizures. The vet and her foster mom have chosen not to place her on medication immediately due to the mild nature and continued improvement in the frequency of the seizure activity.

Loki is very cautious when she first meets you. But once you’ve passed her inspection she’ll shower you with husky kisses!

This young lady was probably a house dog in that she is crate trained and house trained. She often prefers to nap in her crate so the door is left open at all times, even when her fosters are not at home.

Loki is very intelligent and learns quickly. She will "sit" and "wait" at mealtime until given the "OK" command to eat.
She walks well on leash and does not pull. She is VERY interested in birds and small animals however, so her new home should not have cats or small critters. Loki’s adopter will have to be experienced with the breed and she will also need a canine companion since she has some separation anxiety when left alone even for a sort time. She is "picky" about her doggie friends but does socializes well with most other dogs. She recently met a new male that was brought into the program when he stayed with us for several hours during his transport. By the time he left she had tried everything to initiate play. The male only played for a short time and was more interested in kissing her face and ears. She didn’t resist.

In her previous home the furniture must have been off limits because she is very careful not to jump up unless she is invited. Someone also taught Loki how to be a lady and take treats gently. She does play rough at times and often needs a "time out" to settle.

So far Loki has done well with other dogs she has met and lives with one other Siberian in her foster home.

Interested applicants will talk directly to the foster family for more details.
