I am a sweet and playful young boy, but I have some medical problems. If you look closely at my photo, you can see that my right eye is not normal. I have glaucoma and I am blind in that eye. I almost had surgery to remove it, but my heart rate dropped so fast while under anesthesia, the doctor cancelled the surgery. My most serious issue is my heart. It’s like the Grinch - two sizes too small. I have Chronic Valvular Disease, atrial premature contractions and early signs of congestive heart failure. Currently I take 4 different medicines for my heart. I take two different drops for my eyes. I seem to be doing well on them. However, all the meds are expensive each month. If I get my heart condition under control, I may yet get eye surgery. |

Rescues are a volunteer community. We work together to collectively relieve and assist the animals involved and also the families both in need of help with their family pet and families looking for their missing counterpart. It only takes as much as you wish to involve yourself, from something as simple as a phone call to helping get an animal to vet for assistance. There will always be a need for people to reach out and help; there will always be room for you. |
Visit the ’About DVSHR’ or ’Help Rescue’ page for more information about helping our rescue as a volunteer.
Featured Dog for Adoption....
The dog featured here represents one of many dogs needing a forever home and includes DVSHR foster dogs, dogs in local Shelters, and dogs currently with their owners. We hope you will consider adopting any of these dogs.
